American Lemurs (Plesiadapiformes) are a family of mammals that are either related to primates or are primates (we don't know for certain yet), but they are not lemurs, despite their names, that are native to North America, making them among the only native American non-human primates or relatives of North America.
As fossil evidence suggests, they were the first ever mammals to develop nails instead of claws. Depending on a species, they can resemble true lemurs, galagos, and/or tarsiers, and can either grow to about the size of a mouse lemur or a black-and-white ruffed lemur.
